Le’Veon Bell is more than ready to kickoff the regular season for the first time as a New York Jet.
Bell sat out all of last season waiting for a better deal from the Pittsburgh Steelers as he didn’t appreciate being franchise tagged. In his last season as a Steeler, Bell posted remarkable numbers, rushing for 1,291 yards and 9 touchdowns on 321 rushes. He also made his presence felt in the passing game, garnering 655 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on 85 receptions. Now, the 3-time Pro Bowler is prepared for his first game since 2017, telling the Jets to “Don’t hold back.” when using him for Week 1.
People are skeptical on how Bell will perform, but why?
Bell is worth every penny of his 4-year, $52.5 million deal. He hasn’t shown any evidence of slowing down and he’s ready to bounce back with a healthy body free from injury. He’s not someone who boasts about his stats as he’s solely focused on winning and improving his game every year. He wants to win so bad that he said he would gladly take on 500 touches if it meant that the Jets reached the Super Bowl. Fans should look for him to make a lot of noise this year as he’s eager to prove to the league that he’s still a sheer force to be reckoned with.
Le’Veon Bell is the type of player who can swing the momentum of the game all by himself at a moments notice. Aside from being a great rusher, Bell displays exceptional route running and pass blocking abilities. He has a knack of chipping the defender before releasing to become a solid checkdown option.
With an up and coming Jets organization containing a solid mix of players, look for Bell to flourish in his first season with the team.
