DeSean Jackson is a type of player who is known as a “spark plug”. Players like Jackson can come into a game and at any moment, they’ll make big plays in clutch situations and swing the momentum in your team’s favor.

The return of the Pro-Bowl receiver to Philadelphia further builds on the excitement fans have as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season.

Fans are reminiscing about the countless of memorable moments Jackson created in Philadelphia, from his numerous connections with Michael Vick on the deep ball to his unforgettable game winning punt return against the Giants in The Miracle at the Meadowlands III.

Jackson’s abilities as a playmaker inspires a tremendous vote of confidence among his teammates, making it unsurprising that Jackson has been developing a strong rapport with franchise quarterback Carson Wentz.

In a recent interview, Wentz explained, “Physical reps are second to none.” when building chemistry with a player like Jackson and, “…just talking through things, I feel I’m in a really good spot with him. I think we just keep building.”

It will be interesting to see how Jackson and Wentz connect on the deep ball, an area that the Eagles offense didn’t really focus on last year. The offense ran at a fast pace, mixing together screens and short crosses before going over the top with deep corners and posts, especially on plays involving the play action.

If the duo can establish a similar connection as Jackson had with Michael Vick, than opposing defenses will have to deal with another facade of an Eagles offense that already features Pro-Bowl caliber players like Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz, and a running game led by Pro-Bowler Jordan Howard and promising rookie Miles Sanders.

Jackson’s quickness will be a serious problem for opposing defenses. He can use this quickness at the slot position to slip through the seams or burn corners one-on-one on the outside. The Eagles can maximize this advantage by adopting a short passing play style as Jackson can turn a short gain into a huge gain at a moments notice.

The Eagles are already a serious contender to win the Super Bowl. DeSean Jackson in an Eagles uniform further solidifies that fact.
