In a not so surprising announcement due to his recent history of injuries, former Eagles safety and special teams anchor Chris Maragos announced his retirement from the NFL. He announced his decision in a heart felt tweet on Tuesday morning.
During his five year stretch in Philadelphia, Maragos became an integral part of the Eagles special teams unit. Prior to the 2017 season, he was voted as a team captain and despite being out for much of that season, his leadership qualities in the locker room aided in his teammates efforts to capture Philadelphia’s first Super Bowl title. Maragos spent the entire 2018 season sidelined due to injury before being released in February.
We are hoping his final surgery is a successful one and we wish him all the best in his retirement. Eagles fans everywhere will forever cherish his service to the team and the city of Philadelphia.
THANK YOU CHRIS!!!
